With 33 hydro and pumped-storage schemes under construction (new and major upgrade projects), which will provide more than 2100 MW of capacity, Switzerland is one of Europe’s most active countries for hydropower at present. The beautiful town of Montreux, overlooking Lake Geneva, will provide a perfect setting for the world hydro community to meet next year, to discuss topical aspects of global hydropower development. There will be opportunities to visit major projects under construction in the region.
